More than a coffee company.

Great coffee is just the beginning. Here's the story behind why we really started Elo.

What We Believe

We believe you should never have to wonder what's in your coffee.

We believe you shouldn't have to choose between great coffee and a brand worth supporting.

We believe generosity should be built into the bottom line, not added on top of it.

We believe God can use something as simple as a cup of coffee to change lives.

Built on something bigger than a business plan

Long before Elo Coffee Co. existed, the dream did. Early in our marriage, we felt a deep conviction that one day we would use a business to make a real difference in the world. A prophetic word had been spoken over Andrew as a young man that he would own a business one day, and it stayed with him through years of building a career and raising our family. We were faithful in the season we were in, trusting that the Lord would make it clear to us when the time was right.

The clarity came after a trip to Thailand that became the catalyst for what eventually became Elo. Seeing the depth of need in communities around the world stirred something we couldn't shake, and a growing sense that now might be the time to go all in. We came home and started exploring what that could look like. One business idea felt close, but something was always missing. Then in early 2026, Andrew woke up from a dream knowing: the name was Elo, and it wasn't for the idea we had been working on. It was for a coffee company. (More on the name below.)

And so we said yes, even though it was scary. Andrew walked away from the stability of a career he had spent over a decade building. There were hard conversations, big decisions, and more than a few moments of sitting with the weight of the unknown.

We are so humbled to be here. We're building this business on a calling, staying faithful to what's in front of us, and trusting God with everything we can't yet see.

We believe we are blessed to be a blessing.

Elo is short for Elohim (the Hebrew name for God the Creator), meaning powerful and mighty. It is the very first name of God used in the Bible, appearing in Genesis 1:1: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. When Andrew woke up from that dream in early 2026 knowing the name, he didn't have to look far to understand why. From the very beginning, this business has been God's.

The Hebrew lettering of Elohim became the foundation of the Elo brand. During the design process, each letter was reimagined as an abstract brushstroke, then woven together into the flowing pattern you see on our packaging today. It's not just a design detail. It's a declaration of where this all comes from.

The meaning behind the name.

The Hebrew word Elohim rendered in expressive navy brushstrokes on a white background — the name of God the Creator and the inspiration behind the Elo Coffee Co. brand name and packaging pattern.

Our Give-back Partners

See the difference your cup makes.

From the very beginning, the give-back model wasn't a feature we added to make Elo more marketable, it was the reason we started. Every sale, every bag, every cup - 10% goes directly to organizations doing work we believe in deeply, in communities that need it most. We didn't want to write a check once a year and call it generosity. We wanted to build a company where generosity is the operating system.

These are the partners we've chosen to stand behind, and the real difference your purchase makes in their work.
